Playground Program

AYSO Playground is a child development program for 3 and 4 year-olds. With the objective of developing a child’s fundamental motor skills using soccer as a common thread. It is not a coaching program or a soccer program, although soccer balls will be used in some activities.

The program is designed to develop:
● Locomotor (i.e. running, hopping, skipping, etc.)
● Non-locomotor (i.e. balancing and twisting, etc.)
● Object Control (i.e. catching, throwing, kicking, etc.)
● Social Skills (i.e. sharing, sportsmanship, smiling)

These are critical skills for all sports and involve eye-hand coordination as well as eye-foot coordination.
The program include six sessions, approximately one hour in length. Each child will need to have a parent (or other adult) able to work with them on the field.

Our Playground program does NOT practice during the week, the sessions are Saturday's for (6) consecutive Saturdays. The Fall season starts the first Saturday in August and the Spring season the second Saturday of January.

Playground division games will be held each Saturday @ Ho’opili Soccer Field

Required equipment includes athletic shoes and a size three soccer ball.
